About Prabu

About Prabu

Born in Dubbo and raised in Sydney, Prabu has worked for nearly a decade as a psychologist with adults, children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of difficulties. He is myLife's resident specialist in therapy for children, teens and families, and in addition to his work with us he is also busy raising his own young family.

Prabu has a welcoming, approachable and compassionate therapy style. He is  skilled at helping both his adult and young clients feel at ease and engage confidently in therapy so that they can achieve their goals and reach their potential. He is experienced in working with adults with complex mental health issues, and he is particularly passionate about working with children and teens to help them flourish and build their resilience. His training and experience means that he can bring a developmental and family systems perspective to his work with adult clients as well as with younger people.

Prabu worked for 8 years at the Liverpool-Fairfield Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service where he treated young people and families experiencing a wide range of psychological issues. He has also worked in inpatient and outpatient public and private health settings treating children and adults of various complexity. He has been employed by UnitingCare Mental Health as a support worker with adults suffering from problems such as psychosis, and he has also been a counsellor through Lifeline.

Prabu completed an undergraduate psychology degree at Macquarie University and a Masters in counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). He also trained in couples and family therapy through the Australian Institute for Relationship Studies. Prabu is endorsed as a clinical psychologist, and he is qualified as a supervisor for clinical psychology students.
