About Prabu

About Prabu

Prabu provides a warm and compassionate approach that supports individuals to reach their potential. He works collaboratively with children, adolescents, adults, and families to build resilience by offering evidence-based strategies that are culturally-sensitive.

Prabu completed an undergraduate psychology degree at Macquarie University and a Masters in counselling at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP). He also trained in couples and family therapy through the Australian Institute for Relationship Studies. Prabu is endorsed as a clinical psychologist, and he is qualified as a supervisor for clinical psychology students.

Prabu's expertise includes providing therapy to children, teens and families, having worked for 8 years at Liverpool-Fairfield Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health Service. He has also worked in inpatient and outpatient public and private settings treating children and adults of various complexity. Prabu advocates firmly for intervention focusing on the family system as this can strongly facilitate growth. He engages in regular professional development to ensure clients are provided the most optimal intervention.

Prabu has worked considerably with disadvantaged communities, connecting individuals with appropriate options to ensure they are treated holistically. He has been employed in UnitingCare Mental Health as a support worker in the HASI program facilitating independent living skills for adults suffering from a range of problems including psychosis. Prabu also has provided support as a volunteer telephone and face to face counsellor through Lifeline.
