About Heather

Heather is a Clinical Psychology Registrar and a PhD (Clinical Psychology) Candidate with a range of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across different settings. She has experience in university child and adult clinics, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, private practice and Headspace.

Heather has worked with children experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bullying, and trauma. She has also provided parenting support and previously ran group programmes for parents of children with behavioural concerns.

Heather also has experience with treating adults with varying clinical presentations. She has worked with adults with anxiety, depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and ADHD.

Heather adopts a nurturing, rapport-based, client-centred approach in the therapy room, aiming to build a safe and open environment for her clients. She uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches with her clients using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). She is passionate about helping her clients understand their emotions and mental health concerns better, and helping them achieve their therapeutic goals through skills-based approaches.

Heather completed her Bachelor in Psychological Science (Honours) at the University of Wollongong and is currently completing her PhD (Clinical Psychology).
