About Margie 

About Margie 

Margie is a registered psychologist with a Masters of Clinical Psychology degree from Macquarie University. With broad life experiences over 12 years in high school teaching, corporate mental health, and community counseling with adults, children, youth and families, Margie brings a wealth of skills and knowledge to her psychological work.

Margie has a passion for supporting children and families, particularly those dealing with difficulties such as conduct and behavior problems, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, peer and parental relationship problems. She has also worked with adults and adolescents suffering from emotional regulation issues, disordered eating and sleep patterns, procrastination, grief and loss, complex trauma, ADHD and more. She has a particular interest in the treatment and prevention of emotional problems such as stress, depression and anxiety, including social anxiety, general anxiety and worry, panic attacks, agoraphobia, phobias, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviour.

Margie is trained in family therapy, and is well-versed in the internationally renowned “Cool Kids” anxiety program for children and adolescents developed by the Centre for Emotional Health at Macquarie University, and the Integrative Family Intervention for children with conduct problems developed by Mark Dadds. She has also trained with the Psychological Medicine and Oncology team at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. In addition to her work at myLife Margie currently works with youth at Headspace, Camperdown.

Margie is dedicated to helping children, youth and adults apply successful, evidence-based strategies to overcome practical challenges in their lives. She collaborates with every client to cultivate personal goals for holistic recovery and she centralizes trust in her therapy to uphold a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Margie sees children, adolescents, families and individual adult clients at our Alexandria consultation rooms.
