Meet Alex

Alex enjoys working with clients to understand their psychological challenges, including the origins of these, what maintains them, and how to create change for the better. He works from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) perspective that he tailors to the individual, sometimes also incorporating techniques from other approaches to improve treatment outcomes.

Alex has experience working in public health, private practice, and not-for-profit. He has provided evidence-based treatment to individuals across the lifespan from adolescents to older adults experiencing a range of psychological difficulties. In addition to his work with MyLife, Alex is also completing a PhD, working towards combining his clinical work with his research interests in decision-making. Alex has also previously provided clinical supervision to psychologists in training.

Alex was born in Norway but has called Sydney home for 15 years. He speaks English, Norwegian and some Greek.  Outside of his clinical work and research, Alex enjoys travelling and exploring new places, with a particular interest in observing both the differences and shared experiences across cultures. He also enjoys reading classic (sometimes esoteric) literature, as well as unwinding with old sitcoms or classic sci-fi films.
