Meet Marissa

Marissa takes a collaborative, client-centred approach to therapy, meeting people where they’re at and working alongside them to develop clear, evidence-based treatment plans aligned with their goals. Her work is grounded in helping clients build insight, practical skills, and confidence as they navigate their mental health.

Marissa has experience supporting people across the lifespan. She has worked with children and families as a behaviour analyst and has provided psychological support to adolescents, adults, and older adults in both individual and group settings. She champions neuro-affirming practice and works thoughtfully with neurodivergent individuals, with a focus on strengthening skills, self-understanding, and self-compassion.

Alongside her role at MyLife Psychologists, Marissa works as a psychologist at Waratah Private Hospital in both inpatient and outpatient programs. In this setting, she facilitates group therapy and supports individuals experiencing a range of presentations, including mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance dependence recovery.

Marissa values strong therapeutic relationships and brings curiosity, empathy, and respect to her work with clients. She takes a holistic view of mental health, focusing on the whole person and their lived experience rather than defining individuals by a diagnosis.

Outside the therapy room, Marissa enjoys cooking, snorkelling, ‘cosy gaming’, and reading on her much-loved Kindle.
