Meet Alex

Alex enjoys working with clients to understand their psychological challenges, including the origins of these, what maintains them, and how to create change for the better. He works from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) perspective that he tailors to the individual, sometimes also incorporating techniques from other approaches to improve treatment outcomes.

Alex has over a decade’s worth of experience, having worked as a psychologist in private practice and previously in public hospital (Prince of Wales) and not-for-profit organisations (Black Dog Institute, Headspace). He has provided evidence-based treatment to individuals across the lifespan from adolescents to older adults experiencing a range of psychological difficulties. In addition to his work with MyLife, Alex is a university lecturer, and he has also previously provided clinical supervision to psychologists in training.

Alex was born in Norway but has called Sydney home for 15 years. He speaks English, Norwegian and some Greek.  Outside of his clinical work and research, Alex enjoys travelling and exploring new places.
