Meet Neil

Neil’s therapy approach focuses on creating a safe and affirming space for all clients, and he brings compassion, empathy, and humour to his therapy sessions. Using evidence-based interventions like cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI), Neil creates treatment plans to address each client’s unique needs and goals from a strengths-based and collaborative approach.

Neil’s experience covers various settings, including community mental health care, alcohol and substance counselling, university counselling services, and anxiety group therapy programs.

Before becoming a psychologist and completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Neil spent nearly 20 years in various corporate and professional services marketing and business development roles.

Neil’s clinical interests include anxiety and depression, LGBTQIA+ identity challenges, alcohol and substance-use concerns, ADHD management, and executive burnout.

Neil’s commitment to social justice and inclusivity is a guiding principle of his practice. He ensures that all clients, regardless of their background, feel not just welcome, but truly valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Outside of his professional life, Neil enjoys reading, cooking, attempting to learn the piano, and taking his dog on adventures.
